The Sport Where You are the Search Engine!

Heard about the cool new sport of GeoCaching? Come check it out with the folks from Smugglers' Notch Peak Adventures.

Find the hidden treasures (called geocaches) both at Smugglers' Notch Resort and up in "The Notch", while learning about this new sport. Brush up on your old-school map and compass skills and learn the new-school skills of GPS (Global Positioning System), a system of satellites, computers, and receivers that is able to determine the latitude and longitude of a receiver on Earth by calculating the time difference for signals from different satellites to reach the receiver.

We'll hunt for "treasure" at the bottom of Morse Mountain and up in the Notch.

Available June 26 - September 1, 2008. Thursday, 10:00 am - 12:00 noon. $20 per person. Meet guide at the Gazebo. Own transportation required. Ages 8 and older, under 18 must be accompanied by adult. Advance registration required, limited space available.
