Your visit to Smugglers' Notch Resort during our MapleFest Celebration will immerse you in the traditions of the sugaring season, right in the geographic heart of Vermont's renowned maple syrup production. You'll even see sap lines at the resort that collect for a nearby sugarhouse!

Smugglers' is your comfortable and convenient home base for visits to sugarhouses where you'll learn about the process directly from enthusiastic maple sugarmakers. From snowshoe and walking treks, to specialty food and beverage samplings, to special dining options at our restaurants, you'll find so much that is maple-themed.

Plan on enjoying days filled with excitement, learning and fun that will leave you with your sweetest vacation memories ever!

Your Vermont MapleFest Celebration features the following:
Vermont maple syrup
Self-Guided Local Maple House Tour
Local sugar house tours. Learn about the inner workings of local sugar houses.

Thursday 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
MapleFest Spring Carnival featuring syrup on snow, games, ice carving, and music.

Saturday & Sunday, March 23 & 24 10:00 am - 3:30 pm
Maple Open House Weekend
Celebrate Vermont Maple! Experience a live boil, sugar house tours, activities for the whole family and plenty of maple treats! For a listing of open sugar houses around the state visit vermontmaple.org

Maple Experience Snowshoe Trek - intermediate level.
Join us on a guided trek through Vermont's pristine woods and learn about the liquid gold that runs through our maple trees. learn to identify the different types of ample trees and techniques involved in maple sugaring — a time honored Vermont tradition. Weather and trail conditions permitting. $45 per person, equipment provided. Please call the Nordic Center to sign-up, ext 1173.

Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Family Snowshoe Maple Scavenger Hunt — Join us for a maple-themed, self-guided family adventure. Strap on snowshoes, follow our clues, and enjoy exploring our beautiful trails. Complete your adventure with a bonfire!! $10 per person. Please call the Nordic Center to sign-up, ext 1173.

Don’t miss delicious maple-infused menu items and specials at the Morse Mountain Grille and Hearth & Candle Restaurant, and specialty beverages at The Perk!
