We received 3 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 9 inches in the past 2 days. We’ve been in a cycle where we get a little snow every day. We received 31 inches in the past 8 days! The new snow we received last night was nice and light, which is great for icing on the cake. We have a strong base now, so fluffy snow on top is perfect. I skied on all 3 mountains today. On Morse Mountain, ski patrol opened Snow Snake and Upper Morse Liftline with natural snow coverage. This morning I had a great time taking a few runs with Caleb Kessler Smuggs Social Media Manager and Matt McCawley. Matt’s photo is seen below. This afternoon, I rode the Madonna II Lift and I found some great pow turns in Bermuda and the Shire. Fresh turns in lower-angle woods are pretty fun! I can’t wait to see what I find tomorrow. We presently have 49 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. We plan to have 70 trails open this weekend. Tomorrow, we plan to have Madonna II Lift, Village Lift, Sterling Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider all operating. 20 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Lower Chilcoot, Curley’s Cutback, and Thomke’s, for a total of 90 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with average base depths of 16 to 40 inches. Currently, it is cloudy and 8 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for partly sunny skies early, then a chance of flurries later, with a high of 18 degrees at the base and 13 degrees at higher elevations. The Madonna I Lift is presently closed for snowmaking and grooming operations.
