We received 6 to 8 inches of new snow overnight, 30 inches in the past week, 66 inches in the past 15 days, and 163 inches this season so far! Amazing conditions! We have 5 lifts operating, Madonna 2, Village, Sterling, Mogul Mouse’s Magic, and Sir Henry’s Glider. We have 44 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 12 to 42 inches. 20 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley, Garden Path, and McPherson’s for a total of 118 acres of freshly groomed terrain. I found the best snow this morning on trails that cut across the hill instead of straight up and down. The wind moved the new snow around a bit. Currently, it is snowing and 4 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 10 to 20 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for periods of snow another 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible with a high of 12 degrees at the base and 2 degrees at higher elevations. Bundle up and enjoy all the new light fluffy snow!
We presently have grooming and snowmaking operations on the upper half of Madonna Mountain. Our Mountain Operations crew is working hard to get Madonna Mountain open to the top again as soon as possible. We also want to make sure that we provide a quality product with safety in mind. We are asking for uphill travel to stay off Madonna Mountain at this time. Sterling Mountain is open to uphill travel daily 5:30 am to 7:30 am. Please use Rumrunner for your uphill route. Morse Mountain is open to uphill travel Fridays through Wednesdays 5 pm to 10 pm.
