Rum Runners’ Hideaway

Craving a refreshing freshwater swim? Embark on an adventure to Rum Runner’s Hideaway, our pristine, unguarded natural mountainside reservoir. With water depths ranging from 7 to 12 feet, it’s the perfect spot for a revitalizing dip. The journey is just as enjoyable as the destination! For a scenic hike, take the Meadowlark Trail from the Village to Curley’s Cutback—about a 40-minute walk. Alternatively, park at the Madonna/Sterling Base Lodge and follow the signs for a quick 10-minute stroll.

Please note that no lifeguard is on duty, and we ask that you practice Leave No Trace principles by packing out all your waste, as there are no waste receptacles available.
