Introducing Our Leadership Team

Bill has been with Smugglers’ Notch since 1987 and purchased the resort in 1996. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Stritzler was employed by AT&T from 1973-1986. He held a number of senior marketing positions before becoming Corporate Vice President in charge of mergers, acquisitions, and new business ventures, reporting to the AT&T president. From 1960-74, he was employed with Wells Fargo & Company in San Francisco, where he was a Vice President of the bank and President of the information system subsidiary. Most recently, Bill received the Vermont Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award for 2016!

Lisa joined her father, Bill Stritzler, and the Smugglers’ team in 2002. She is responsible for Marketing, IT, HR, Quality Assurance, and Owner Contracts. Lisa holds a master’s degree from the University of Chicago, where she studied Economics. Prior to joining Smuggs, she was a business consultant and marketing director in the United States, Japan, and Europe.

Brian has been with Smugglers’ Notch since 1990. Brian is in charge of establishing and maintaining the company’s financial objectives and policies. Beginning his career in public accounting in 1977, he served as comptroller of an international ski company for seven years and has been a CPA since 1980.

Mark joined Smugglers’ in 1978 after obtaining a BS degree in Recreation Management. He is responsible for coordinating all planning and development activities from the research stage through permitting, design, construction, environmental compliance, and energy management. Mark also serves as the Resort’s liaison with state and local government. He is responsible for all aspects of the guest experience on the mountain, plus summer children’s programs.

Steve has been with Smugglers’ Notch since 1985. Steve is responsible for overseeing all marketing initiatives to help grow the Resort’s occupancy. A wide range of background experience includes direct sales, conference sales, trade shows, promotional events, brand development & enhancements, advertising, and continuous marketing research projects. Steve has a business degree and enjoys spending time with his three children skiing and recreating at Smuggs.

Lauren has been with Smugglers’ Notch Resort since 2002. She held several positions, including Director of Housekeeping, Village Operations Director (overseeing Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Village Services), and Senior Director of Quality Assurance. Lauren’s current responsibilities include Human Resources, Safety/Security, and Home Quality Assurance. Prior to joining Smuggs, Lauren was affiliated with Marriott, ResortQuest, and Watercolor Inn and Resort. Lauren is a graduate of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Jodi Trask, a proud native Vermonter, has been an integral part of the Smugglers’ Notch Resort family since 1997. With a solid foundation from Paul Smith’s renowned hospitality program, Jodi has dedicated 26 years to enhancing Smugglers’ award-winning service. As the Director of Guest Services, she consistently raised the bar for satisfaction. Currently, in her role as Vice President of Property Management Operations, Jodi oversees resort-wide property management, including Village Services, Transportation, Housekeeping, and Maintenance departments, ensuring operational excellence across all facets of the Resort experience.
