Reindeer, pirates, and bears

It was a great day on the slopes! I had a blast skiing on Sterling and snowboarding on Morse. The Alley was groomed last night so that was my first run of the day. This afternoon I rode Garden Path and Lower Morse Liftline. Also this afternoon my daughter Hayleigh and I went to see the visiting reindeer. Dasher and Cupid made a short pit stop here at Smuggs today. Their antlers are very impressive and beautiful. I then headed back to my office when I saw a bear and a pirate. That’s right, it was Billy Bob Bear and the Friendly Pirate skiing together! They were excited to go to the top of Morse and ski Garden Path for the first time this season.

Tomorrow we plan to have 4 lifts operating; Sterling Lift, Village Lift, Sir Henry’s Glider, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift. We now have 15 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 13 out of the 15 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 55 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and loose granular with average base depths of 6 to 32 inches. We are presently making snow on Mulcahy’s Link and Lower FIS. Currently, it is partly sunny and 19 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for snow early with half an inch of accumulation becoming freezing rain with a high of 31 degrees.

Dasher and Cupid made a quick stop here at Smuggs before heading back to the North Pole.
