Uphill access is currently closed and will likely remain that way until we get more snow to open additional terrain. The reason is safety, which currently has two aspects. First, conditions after this last thaw are very hard and we are grooming across all three mountains at times that vary from our usual schedule in an effort to renovate surface conditions. The second aspect is ice. The series of thaws we’ve had has led to a profusion of ice blooms and flows on the snow surfaces. While we try to cover them up, that’s not always possible and they are very difficult to see at night and in the flat light of early morning and late afternoon. Bottom line; we don’t want anybody to get hurt out there so be patient, it looks like it may soften up again soon.
