We received a dusting to an inch of new snow last night and 12 inches in the past week. Currently, it snowing and 10 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Today’s forecast is calling for snow showers with 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible and a high of 19 degrees. Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 5 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We have 62 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Birch Run Terrain Park is open with 3 jumps, a spine, and a rail. Surface conditions are packed powder and powder with base depths of 14 to 46 inches. 24 trails have been groomed for today, including Snake Bite, Curley’s Cutback, and Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 105 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Upper FIS is closed today due to snowmaking.

The snow dumped and the trail count jumped

We received 11 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 17 inches in the past 2 days. Our trail count was 30 on Friday and today it is 56! The new snow started off pretty heavy which is perfect for building a base. The wind also moved some of the snow around to fill in the low spots. The conditions were amazing today and I can’t wait to get back out there tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We plan to have 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. The Madonna II Lift will operate tomorrow from 10 am till 2 pm. 19 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 85 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with base depths of 14 to 46 inches. Currently, it is snowing and 21 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tonight’s forecast is calling for snow with another 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible. Tomorrow’s forecast is cloudy skies with a chance of snow showers early and a high of 23 degrees.

I see more open terrain in the forecast! Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 5 lifts operating. We have 29 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 19 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley and Lower Chilcoot for a grand total of 85 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and packed powder with average base depths of 12 to 40 inches. Currently, it is 22 degrees at the summit of Sterling with clear skies. Today’s forecast is calling for sunny skies with a chance of some patchy fog and a high of 33 degrees.

The weekend is looking good

Today we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We will have 5 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We have 26 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 18 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 77 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and packed powder with average base depths of 12 to 40 inches. We are presently making snow on Lower Chilcoot. Last night we also made some snow on Meadowlark and the base area of the upper mountains. Currently it is cloudy and 22 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 0 to 5 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for mostly cloudy skies and a high of 32 degrees.

Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We plan to have 5 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We now have 28 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 18 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 77 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and packed powder with average base depths of 12 to 40 inches. Last night we made snow on Midway, Meadowlark, and Curley’s Cutback. Today we made snow on Lower Chilcoot. Tonight we plan to make snow on Meadowlark and Lower Chilcoot. Currently, it is partly sunny and 18 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a chance of flurries and a high of 28 degrees.

Today’s weather was cloudy skies with flurries early in the day. Then partly sunny skies with warmer temperatures. Most of Morse Mountain was spring conditions. The upper mountains softened on the bottom half. The groomed terrain softened up nicely. I snowboarded this morning on Morse and skied in the afternoon on the upper mountains. Smugglers’ Alley was a bunch of fun today. Black Snake was in the sun this afternoon and it softened up for some nice turns.

Weather permitting tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 7 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We plan to have 40 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 14 to 52 inches. We should see spring conditions tomorrow, especially at lower elevations. 34 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Snow Snake, Playground, and Smugglers’ Alley for a grand total of 132 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is partly cloudy and 28 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies, rain, and breezy with a high of 44 degrees. Another beautiful day

Today we have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We now have 70 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 16 to 56 inches. 40 trails have been groomed for today, including Upper FIS, Smugglers’ Alley, Thomke’s, Ruthie’s, Curley’s Cutback, and Bootlegger for a grand total of 153 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is sunny and 22 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 15 to 20 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high of 42 degrees. Black Snake will be closed for today from 9 am till 2 pm due to a ski race.

Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 16 to 56 inches. 37 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley, Drifter, Snow Snake, and Snake Bite for a grand total of 148 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently it is cloudy and 24 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for skies becoming partly sunny with a high of 38 degrees.

We received 35 inches of new snow in the past 5 days. We are 99 percent open. Today we have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 5 lifts operating. The Village Lift is presently on wind hold. We have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 16 to 54 inches. 34 trails have been groomed for today, including Drifter, Snow Snake, and Thomke’s for a grand total of 134 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is snowing and 24 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 15 to 25 mph.
