I want to thank our fantastic Mountain Operations crew for getting more lifts and trails open. Great teamwork between our snowmakers, groomers, patrollers, and lift operations! Morse Mountain opens today with 3 beginner trails. Sir Henry’s Glider and the Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift to mid-station are starting to turn at 9 am. We now have terrain for all ability levels. The Sterling Lift is also operating today with 24 trails open for intermediates and experts. 10 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley, Thomke’s, Magic Learning Trail, and Howie’s Wanderer for a total of 42 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and variable with average base depths of 10 to 40 inches. We are presently making snow on Garden Path, Lower Morse Liftline, and the base area of Madonna. We received an inch of new snow overnight, 2 inches in the past 48 hours, and 7 inches in the past 3 days. Currently, it is 10 degrees at the summit of Sterling with partly cloudy skies and winds of 5 to 10 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for skies becoming sunny with a high of 18 degrees at the base and 12 degrees at higher elevations. Bundle up and enjoy the great conditions.
