New snow for the new year

3 Mountain Logo

We received 1 to 2 inches of new snow so far with more on the way. There is a Winter Weather Warning from now until Friday with up to 2 feet of accumulation possible. The new snow that we received last night is already changing the surface conditions, especially at higher elevations. Today’s forecast is calling for snow showers 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible at the summit, breezy, with a high of 36 degrees at the base and 32 degrees at higher elevations. Currently, it is snowing and 27 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 10 to 20 mph and gusting higher. We have 5 lifts operating today, Sterling, Village, Mogul Mouse’s Magic, Madonna 2, and Sir Henry’s Glider. We have 15 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 8 to 38 inches. All 15 trails have been groomed for today, including Midway, Meadowlark, Magic Learning Trail, and Smugglers’ Alley for a total of 100 acres of freshly groomed terrain.
