Northern Vermont is under a wind advisory from the National Weather Service from 4 am to 10 pm Monday. Winds in the base area are forecast to blow around 30 mph, gusting in the high 40s to around 50 mph at times. If the forecast comes true, it could result in some lift delays or closures. Please check the snow report after 8 am Monday for updates. Temperatures will be in the high single digits at the base with negative wind chills so bundle up and keep faces covered. We received 13 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 39 inches in the past week! Weather permitting tomorrow we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We have 76 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 16 to 50 inches. 36 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Ruthie’s, Drifter, Goat Path, Snow Snake, Curley’s Cutback, Jolly Rodger, and Smugglers’ Alley for a total of 191 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is snowing hard and 16 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tonight’s forecast is calling for 3 to 5 inches of new snow. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for snow showers another 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible.

Christmas day around 1970, minus 25 with a 50 mph wind at the top, last chair up. Almost gave up within sight of the lodge. (Madonna Mountain) Quite an experience.🙄🙄
