Today was a little wet and windy, but the conditions were soft. My favorite runs of the day were Smugglers’ Alley and Snake Bite. They were both groomed last night and skied well today. Tonight the temperature drops and the rain will become snow a half inch of accumulation. The temperature does not fall below freezing until later tonight. This means that our groomers will get a later start and we may have a delayed opening on Sterling tomorrow. Please check the report in the morning for the most up-to-date information. We are going to focus our grooming operations tomorrow morning on Sterling Mountain. We plan to get the Madonna 1 Lift open again on Wednesday. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies early giving way to sunshine in the afternoon with a high of 31 degrees at the base and 26 degrees at higher elevations. We have 13 trails open with terrain for experts and intermediates. 12 out of the 13 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, that’s a total of 62 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions tomorrow will be machine groomed and loose granular with average base depths of 10 to 46 inches.
