Spring Conditions

3 Mountain Logo

Currently, it is cloudy and 35 degrees at the summit of Sterling, with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Today’s forecast calls for cloudy skies and a slight chance of rain, mix, or snow, with a high of 42 degrees. The mild temperatures have made for some nice, soft conditions. Ski Patrol has been busy dropping ropes on Highlander, Black Bear, Bootlegger, Harvey’s Hideaway, and more. We now have 28 trails open, with terrain for intermediates and experts only. Today, we have the Madonna II Lift and Sterling Lift operating. 16 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley and the Practice Slope, for 89 acres of freshly groomed terrain.

We will be closed on Monday, April 7th, and Tuesday, April 8th. We need to do some patchwork on our trails, especially at lower elevations. The snow at the base area has been getting a little thin due to the warmer temperatures of the past few days. We have colder temperatures headed our way and want to take advantage. The freezing temperatures and a few inches of new snow on Tuesday will help us do some trail repair. This will allow us to give our skiers and riders a good experience. We plan to reopen the Sterling Lift on Wednesday, April 9th, and it will remain open through closing day, Sunday, April 13th. We also plan to open the Madonna I Lift on Saturday, April 12th, and Sunday, April 13th!
