I would like to give a big shout-out to our snowmakers, groomers, lift staff, and patrollers! All of their hard work really paid off. The skiing and riding on Madonna today was just off the hook! Robins’ Run, Upper Madonna Liftline, Upper FIS, Freefall from the traverse, Doc Dempsey’s, Lower Catwalk, Shuttle, 3 Mountain Glades, Norwegian Woods, Red Fox Glades, Upper Chilcoot, and the Black Hole all opened today. I did not get to ski all of these trails today, but I really tried. Let’s just say that I’m really looking forward to tomorrow and we are going to get more snow! Tonight’s forecast is snow showers with 2 to 4 inches. Tomorrow’s forecast is snow showers and another 2 to 4 inches of accumulation possible with a high of 30 degrees at the base and 24 degrees at higher elevations. Tomorrow we plan to have top to bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains. We plan to have 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We now have 64 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 25 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley, Upper Chilcoot, and Garden Path for a grand total of 105 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 6 to 26 inches. Today we made snow on Upper FIS. Currently, it is 20 degrees at the summit of Sterling with flurries.
