We received 5 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours and 20 inches in the past 5 days! We have received more than just snow in the past 5 days, but a little liquid sunshine and a bunch of new snow is a great base-building combo. This allowed the patrol to drop ropes all over Madonna and Sterling. Sterling is now 100 percent open. All trails accessed from the Madonna II Lift are also open. Tomorrow, we plan to have skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with Madonna II Lift, Village Lift, Sterling Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider all operating. We now have 55 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 20 trails will be groomed for tomorrow for a total of 90 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine-groomed and packed powder with average base depths of 14 to 38 inches. Currently, it is cloudy and 16 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 15 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies with a high of 17 degrees at the base and 13 degrees at higher elevations.
