George Tormey Challenge

3 Mountain Logo

It was so much fun watching these young athletes showing off their skills! They handled Snake Bite and the Practice Slope like champs. The future is looking bright for these kids. It was a wonderful turnout with over 100 racers. The racing action continues tomorrow with a dual slalom race. I would like to thank everyone who helped make this event possible!

We received an inch of new snow on top overnight and 5 inches in the past 24 hours. Tomorrow, we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with all 8 lifts operating. We have 71 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 32 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley, Snow Snake, and skier’s right on Upper FIS, for a total of 127 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable, with average base depths of 10 to 36 inches. Currently, it is cloudy and 30 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 0 to 5 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for snow showers on top, 1 to 2 inches of accumulation possible, mix and rain at the bottom with a high of 41 degrees at the base and 35 degrees at higher elevations.
