Grooming operations

3 Mountain Logo

Our snowmaking crew just finished up with the skier’s right of Lower Morse Liftline last night. Our groomers have been pushing out the snowmaking whales this morning. They need a little more time to get it ready for skiers and riders, so the Village Lift will have a delayed opening until 9 am. Currently, it is cloudy and 3 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. There is a Winter Weather Advisory for today. Today’s forecast is calling for periods of snow 2 to 4 inches of accumulation possible with a high of 28 degrees at the base and 26 degrees at higher elevations. The temperature and wind speed will be increasing throughout the day. Today we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna 1 Lift. We have 75 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 30 trails have been groomed for today, including Snow Snake, Smugglers’ Alley, and skier’s right on Upper FIS for a total of 160 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 14 to 44 inches.
