We received 6 inches of new snow today, 12 inches in the past 24 hours, and 21 inches in the past 2 days. The second half of the storm brought in some wind, which had our upper mountain lifts on hold today. The good news is that tomorrow will be another powder day on the upper mountains. The new snow on Morse was wonderful today, so I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us tomorrow at higher elevations. We plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna I Lift. We now have 63 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 35 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Upper FIS, Smugglers’ Alley, Goat Path, Ruthie’s, Hibernator, Snow Snake, Thomke’s, and Snake Bite for a total of 131 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 12 to 40 inches. Currently, it is snowing and 19 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high of 37 degrees at the base and 31 degrees at higher elevations. It is going to be a gorgeous day!
