Mountains of adventure and mountains of fun

3 Mountain Logo

Another fantastic day on the slopes! I went snowboarding on Morse Mountain in the morning and then skiing in the afternoon with friends. We had a blast on Madonna Mountain looking for fresh turns in the woods. It was clear and cool to start the day. The winds picked up in the afternoon and it became cloudy. Tonight’s forecast is calling for snow showers with 2 to 4 inches. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with snow showers another inch of accumulation possible, and windy with a high of 36 degrees at the base and 30 degrees at higher elevations. There is snow forecast again tomorrow night with 3 to 5 inches of new snow possible! Tomorrow we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including Madonna 1. We have 75 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are packed powder and machine groomed with average base depths of 14 to 44 inches. 33 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Drifter, Upper FIS, Snow Snake, Dixie’s Knoll, Smugglers’ Alley, and Snake Bite for a total of 181 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is cloudy and 6 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds 10 to 20 mph.
