Powder day

3 Mountain Logo

We received 8 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours, 14 inches in the past 2 days, and 36 inches in the past week. We had a Winter Weather Advisory today which brought us high winds and a bunch of snow. The new snow was heavier than the snow that we have receiving lately. This is good because the wind did not blow all the new snow off the trails. Today’s storm gave us wonderful coverage on all trails! I would have to say that my favorite run of the day was Full Nelson. I found some deep snow on the skier’s right side that was dreamy! Tomorrow we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna 1 Lift. We have 77 out of 78 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 38 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Drifter, Log Jam, Snow Snake, Smugglers’ Alley, Thomke’s, Ruthie’s, and skiers’ right on Upper FIS for a total of 198 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 16 to 50 inches. Last night we made snow on Bootleggers, Thomke’s Express, and the Zone. We could see 1 to 2 inches of new snow overnight. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies a chance of a late snow shower half inch of accumulation possible, windy with a high of 13 degrees at the base and 7 degrees at higher elevations. Bundle up and enjoy all the new snow!
