On today’s menu was free refills. We received 3 inches of new snow overnight and another 4 inches during the day. The snow has really been piling up! 13 inches in the past 2 days, 19 inches in 6 days, and 94 inches in the month of January so far! My two trail picks today were Freefall and the Black Hole. The snow was so deep and light, truly amazing! I can’t wait to hit the hill again tomorrow, because there is more snow in the forecast tonight. We could see another 1 to 2 inches of accumulation overnight. Tomorrow’s forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies, breezy with a high of 12 degrees at the base and 8 degrees at higher elevations. Bundle up and enjoy all the new snow! Tomorrow we plan to have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including the Madonna 1 Lift. We have 76 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 14 to 44 inches. 34 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Snow Snake, Thomke’s, and Drifter for a total of 175 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is 2 degrees at the summit of Sterling with flurries. Featured photo taken in the Black Hole this morning.
