From Smugglers’ Notch Management: Weather conditions are expected to deteriorate considerably overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning. The current forecast rolls out like this: 3-4” of wet snow from 8 pm Tuesday night until about 1 am Wednesday when it transitions to rain. Rain continues into the morning, transitioning to showers. Winds are the main problem with this storm. We’re looking at sustained winds at the base area in the 40+ mph range from 9 pm Tuesday to 5 am Wednesday when they begin to subside. Winds are expected to gust into the 70 mph range at the base and near 90 mph at the summits. Considerable tree damage is possible, along with power outages. With this in mind, we are planning to open at noon on Wednesday across all lifts, giving us a chance to clean up and make sure conditions are safe to ski and ride on Wednesday afternoon.
Rockin’ Ron for Hugh. Meanwhile, today, I had fun skiing and riding on Sterling Mountain with my friend and co-worker Seth from Activities (Tubing Hill, Winter Carnival, Bingo, Family Events, Bonfires, and more). Smugglers’ Alley was skiing nicely – evidence below. Proud to say “I am a Smuggler.”
